Agromega has been developed to supply supplemental essential fatty acids to pig and poultry feeds to redress the imbalance between omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids.
Agromega is a supplemental source for the long chain fatty acids DHA and EPA that are not present in any vegetable oil used in animal feed. In sows, the use of Agromega leads to a higher rate of foetal survival during pregnancy, resulting in larger litter size. In boars, it leads to greater ejaculations, with higher concentrations and higher doses of semen. For piglets, a greater brain development leads to less crushing. In addition, the immune system of the piglet is enhanced leading to less growth suppression during a disease challenge.
